The Capital City is one happening place after dark.
The bouncers are always welcoming at the Traps Bar in Suva.

It’s after 6pm in Fiji and business activities have ground to a halt. But don’t be misled into thinking that things are getting boring.

Fiji’s fun side is getting into gear. Things come alive after 8pm when night owls descend on nightclubs.

Nightlife in Fiji is an experience in itself – with an exciting night scene that offers a wonderful respite from outdoor activities and basking in the sun during the day.

It’s the perfect occasion to flaunt that appealing tan you’ve worked for in the past few days.

Suva’s nightlife as in the lingo of discerning night owls, is one “happening experience”.

The capital’s watering holes and dance clubs literally vibrate with action every day of the week, intensifying on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Action is slow paced in the early hours of the evening but come eight o’clock and the excitement begins.

The centre of action is usually along Victoria Parade, the stretch from the Civic Auditorium to Albert Park.

A usual night out in Suva begins at the corner of Victoria Parade and McArthur Street.

Arguably the hub of the city, The Corner houses Pizza Hut’s Blues Bar, Bad Dog Café and O’Reilly’s.

Feeling a bit blue? The Blues Bar at Pizza Hut is the ideal spot for you. With jazzy New Orleans tunes wafting in the background, it’s a favourite of rhythm and blues fans who have penchant for Italian food.

For a bit of people watching, the glass front of Bad Dog Café offers the best view in town.

While the kitchen is open until 11pm every night, Bad Dog’s wine and beer list is the drawcard for this dig. After a movie on a Saturday night, this is the place of go for a bite and a drink.

At the back of Bad Dog is a door. Push it open and be transported to Ireland.
