It's the little touches, which makes the difference.

Candlelit tables under swaying palms, sandy floors and the sound of waves lapping on the beach the First Landing restaurant in Lautoka has all the elements for a seriously romantic outing. And it is attention to detail that reigns supreme here, ensuring that your visit will be a memorable one.

Tables are set out on the beach under open skies on fine nights. Candles, torches and starlight provide mood-enhancing lighting while the restaurant's own group serenades diners with their smooth sounds.

Little touches are what makes this place special. Salt and pepper are served in miniature tanoa bowls while wooden menus are held together with magimagi binding and feature tapa borders on the inside.

The award winning restaurant has an extensive menu featuring exotic seafood and steak dishes.

Starters include lobster bisque, garlic prawns, island kokoda and BBQ honey baby octopus to name a few. Choose from a variety of lobster dishes such as lobster mornay, lobster thermidor, lobster in garlic and ginger sauce and Thai lobster curry for mains.

Other options for main dishes include the seafood platter - a selection of prawns, calamari, baby octopus, green lip mussels, grilled catch of the day and kokoda all served on a banana leaf, or standing chilli prawns, fillet mignon and pepper steak, chicken surprise and the fresh catch of the day.

First Landing also offers a one hour sunset cruise with beach dining that departs Port Denarau. Here you can experience magnificient views of Nadi Bay and nearby islands while enjoying the live string band music and full bar service. Upon arriving at Vuda Yacht Marina, you take a short stroll through the Marina to the restaurant for dinner. Choose from the lobster ($99), beef or reef ($79) and bula bula ($59) dinners. After dinner, enjoy the starlight cruise back to Port Denarau.

First Landing got its name from the local legend, which says that the first Fijians arrived on this beach some 3,500 years ago. Today the same strip of beach is home to one of Fiji's finest resorts and restaurants, where a unique dining experience awaits you.
