The Consumer Council of Fiji (CCF) is urging parents to do comparative shopping to enable them to get the best deal.

Council chief executive Premila Kumar said comparative shopping is simply moving around different shops to check the prices of goods available for example text books, shoes, bags, uniforms and other things.

She said consumers must also check their receipt for cash price displayed and paid prices.

Kumar said besides checking the receipt, you must keep the receipt as well for any redress you might need in the future.

The council is also encouraging parents to buy local made books.
