Fiji’s major sugar body, the Fiji Sugar Corporation Ltd, has appointed five new directors to the company board.
 
The appointments were announced today following its adjourned annual general meeting held in Lautoka.
 
Native Land Trust Board (NLTB) general manager and Suva lawyer Alipate Qetaki and Fiji Development Bank (FDB) CEO Ratu Deve Toganivalu are among the new appointees.
 
The other three include Fiji Manufacturing Association’s Desmond Whiteside, Viliame Gucake and Parvin Krishna.
 
FSC’s company secretary Timoci Laqai said Osea Naiqamu and Krishna Prasad, who were appointed by the board to fill casual vacancies, have been reappointed.
 
He said while Marika Gaunavou would continue as a board director, the outgoing directors included Bhoo Prasad Gautam, Arvind Singh, Kamlesh Chandra and former deputy permanent secretary for Finance Peni Sikivou.
