Radisson Resort Fiji has appointed internationally-recognised New Zealand chef Richard Cross as the resort’s Chef Maestro.
As one of New Zealand’s leading culinary exports, Richard’s pedigree includes catering for Queen Elizabeth, the Duke of Edinburgh, Richard Branson and the past President of the United States, Bill Clinton.
Cross also brings to his position a wide range of skills and experiences including his most distinguished position to date as executive chef at the Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel & Towers.
Graduating from Christchurch Polytechnic, Cross followed his career overseas first at the Sydney Hilton where he became head saucier and then to the United States as a tournant sous chef.
Following his career to Scotland, Cross became sous chef at the exclusive Michelin-Star restaurant, The Isle of Eriska Hotel.
Returning to New Zealand in 1990, Richard held a number of distinguished positions culminating in his appointment as Executive Chef for New Zealand’s first casino located in Christchurch. This was followed by numerous roles as Executive Chef at boutique luxury hotels including the internationally renowned Huka Lodge and Millbrook Resort.
Radisson general manager Justin Phillips said: “We are absolutely delighted at Richard’s appointment and the opportunity to provide our guests with what will undoubtedly be the premier culinary experience in Fiji”.
He said Cross’ presence will further elevate cuisine services at the resort.
