French singer and actress Vanessa Paradis has flatly denied a split with her husband US actor Johnny Depp following mounting speculation.

"The rumour is false, of course it is false," she told a news programme on the French Canal+ television station on Tuesday evening.

"It's a rumour that could really damage my family," she added.

The star mocked information circulating about her as gross exaggerations, echoing comments she made to Europe 1 radio on Tuesday.

"I separate in the winter and get married in the summer. I'm on my twelth pregnancy.

"It's not serious... but on the other hand it can hurt my children," she added.

The couple, who divide their time between France and the United States, have been together for 14 years and have two children aged nine and 12.
