The Fiji government has rubbished rumours surrounding the issuance of a mining licence for the Namosi Joint Venture (NJV) project.
There were speculations that the licence was revoked by Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama but Permanent Secretary for Information Sharon Smith-Johns disputed this saying a successful meeting took place between Commodore Bainimarama and the landowners yesterday as planned. In addition, landowners will carry out any necessary rehabilitation emanating from the prospecting. And following the rehabilitation, all parties will meet again to discuss further steps.
