Fijian workers are hard to replace in a workplace says Performance Floatation Development (Fiji) Ltd managing director Michael Towler.

Speaking at a meeting held in Suva this morning with Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum Towler said the Fijian workers are a very important resource in his factory.

“You cannot actually have any substitute for experienced, good quality workers and you can find them here in Fiji,” said Towler.

“Like anywhere else in the world people have their specialties but in Fiji we find that when we teach people how to do things and they retain that knowledge and they support us with their long-term employment in this factory,” he said.

He said one of the main reasons they have chosen to stay under the radar was because they did not want any of their competitors in the Australia and New Zealand markets to know about them.

Meanwhile Sayed-Khaiyum said government would very much like to support this type of businesses that not only cater for other markets but are able to provide a particular working environment and conditions that will benefit Fijians.

Performance Flotation Development (Fiji) Ltd is an Australian based company which produces Personal Floatation Devices.
