Bollywood’s comedian Paresh Rawal who played the famous role of Marathi landlord Baburao Ganpatrao Apte in the film Hera Pheri in 2000 is due in Fiji on July 8.

Rawal is coming to shoot for the movie “Table 21”, a psychological thriller directed by Aditya Datt under the Next Gen Films (Fiji) banner.

Pacific Investment Consultancy Limited general manager Lailun Khan speaking to FijiLive said Rawal will stay in Pacific Harbour for 20 days.

In 2002, Rawal portrayed one of three blind bank robbers in the hit film Aankhen. Rawal has since played many comedy roles in successful films including Awara Paagal Deewana (2002), Garam Masala (2005), Deewane Huye Paagal (2005), Malamaal Weekly (2006), Golmaal (2006),Hulchul (2004), Chup Chup Ke (2006), Bhagam Bhag (2006), Shankar Dada MBBS, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Mere baap Pahale Aap, Welcome and De Dana Dan (2009). In 2010, Rawal acted in the movie Aakrosh based on honour killing.

Rawal has produced several Hindi soaps including Zee TV's Teen Bahuraaniyaan, Sahara One's Main Aisi Kyunn Hoon and Colors' Laagi Tujhse Lagan.

"Table 21" shooting will be in Suva, Pacific Harbor and Nadi over a 30 day period. Some 1000 locals are expected to be part of the movie during the one month shoot.

Another Bollywood film, ‘Warning’ is currently being shot in Rakiraki and will continue in Fiji till July 27.
