The new Fiji passports finally arrived in the country this morning.

This was confirmed to FijiLive by Director of Immigration Major Nemani Vuniwaqa.

Vuniwaqa said some passports have arrived this morning and the remainder will arrive after a few weeks.

“The remaining passports are ready for shipments to Fiji but I can confirm that all 40,000 passports will be here,” said Vuniwaqa.

“The one’s that are already here will cover for a few weeks before the arrival of the rest of the passports,” he said.

“Our officers are working hard to try and sort out all passports before distribution on Monday,” he said.

The public are requested to take note of the dispatch dates and to produce their original receipts on the day they are scheduled to collect their passports.

The issuing of passports will normalise in August 24.
