A 69-year-old unemployed man who allegedly obtained a laptop from an electronics company and 70 gross of BH 10 cigarettes from a supermarket while pretending to be the Minister of Education will appear in court tomorrow.

The accused, from Veiwawa in Navua is charged with one count of obtaining property by deception and one count of dishonestly causing a loss.

Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said the laptop he obtained from the electronics company is valued at $650 and cigarettes from the supermarket amount to $4400.

The man is alleged to have made the orders over the phone and arranged for another to pick up the items. He made similar attempts at other shops this month.
