The growing role by the European Commission in Fiji’s socio-economic development dominated talks on Monday between Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama and the EC Commissioner for International Co-operation and Development Neven Mimica in Brussels.
Last season’s runners up Namaka FC of Nadi and former champs 4R Electric FC of Ba have progressed to next weekend’s Rooster National Club Championship finals after topping their respective pools in Western zone playoff today.
A total of 362,197 people have been registered across different Voter Registration Centres around Fiji for the 2014 elections.
This was after 2526 people registered yesterday.
The Elections Office yesterday registered 1477 people in the Central division, 951 in the Western division, only 98 in the Northern division while there was no registration in the Eastern division.
This brings the total number of people registered so far in the Central division to 143,135, the Western division with 132,106, Eastern division with 20,281 and the Northern division with 66,675 people.
Week one of registration registered a total of 18,058 people, week two registered 78,326, week three with 114,907, week four with 82,721 and week five registered 68,185 people altogether.
According to statistics provided by the Elections Office this are all confirmed numbers.
