The price of all cigarette brands increased from September 12 , confirms British American Tobacco Fiji (BAT Fiji).

BAT Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Manager Rajeshwar Singh said price increase on all brands is a result of an increase in manufacturing costs, as a result of fluctuations in foreign exchange rates and inflationary pressures on cost of inputs.

“Fiji Tobacco control legislation doesn’t allow us to send price lists to anyone other than wholesalers and retailers; however we have extracted the recommended retail price.”
The new recommended retail price are as follows:

BH 10’s                                 $3.40
BH 20’s                                 $6.80
Rothmans 10’s                   $3.80
Rothman 20’s                      $7.60
Pall Mall 10’s                       $3.00
Pall Mall 20’s                       $6.00
Dunhill 10’s                         $3.40
Dunhill 20’s                         $6.80

Singh said that the price list provided to their retailers includes recommended changes to retail prices however their emphasis that retailers set their own prices and the price list is a guideline only.
