The Ministry of iTaukei Affairs, the Ministry of Fisheries and Forests and the Ministry of Agriculture have launched Wakatu Fiji, a groundbreaking campaign to better support the sustainable management of Fiji’s land and forests.
The hunt continues for five inmates who escaped from the Medium Corrections Facility in Naboro at around 8.30pm on Monday.
Fiji Police spokesperson, Ana Naisoro confirmed that no one has been captured so far.
Director Operations, SSP Rusiate Tudravu said, “The operations will continue till the five are caught and we are urging the public to have patience and not to give shelter to the escapees.”
The five are Isoa Waqa, 30 of Waitovu, Ovalau who is serving eight years for robbery with violence, Solomoni Qurai, 28 of Tavuki, Kadavu; who is serving a life sentence for burglary and murder, Tevita Sugu, 29 of Tavuki, Kadavu; who is serving a 13-year-term for aggravated robbery, Josaia Usumaki, 25, of Nakasaleka, Kadavu, who is serving 26 years for robbery with violence and related offences, and Epeli Qaraniqio, 30 of Lamiti, Gau, who is serving eight years for robbery with violence and related offences.
