A 57-year-old allegedly involved in the double murder in Labasa will be appearing in the Labasa court this morning.

Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said the accused has been charged with two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.

The man of Vunivau, Labasa allegedly axed to death his 53-year-old wife and his 93-year-old father-in-law.

He is also alleged to have struck Gayatri Devi, 23, who is recovering at the Labasa Hospital.
