Fiji’s Land Transport of Authority has impounded 139 vehicles during the second phase of its Red Zone operation with the Fiji Police along the Sigatoka and Ba highway.

LTA’s spokeperson, Alfred Wiliame said that this was the highest number of vehicles impounded by LTA so far.

“Some vehicles registration had either expired or were issued with a number of defect orders posing a high risk on our roads,” Wiliame said.
Over 1800 vehicles were issued defect orders while more than 1500 given infringement notices.
