Daniels, Danes win top Emmy Awards Jeff Daniels and Claire Danes won the Emmy for Best Actor and Actress in drama series today.

 Daniels won the Emmy for his role in "The Newsroom,” while Danes captured top honors for "Homeland."

"Breaking Bad" the most Outstanding Drama Series while "Modern Family" was named Best Comedy Series for the fourth consecutive year.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus claimed her second consecutive Best Comedy Actress Emmy for her role on "Veep," while Jim Parsons won the Top Comedy Actor trophy for "The Big Bang Theory."

HBO's Liberace biopic "Behind the Candelabra" won for Best Miniseries or Movie, along with honors for director Stephen Soderbergh and actor Michael Douglas.

Laura Linney was named best actress in a Miniseries or Movie for "The Big C: Hereafter," while James Cromwell of "American Horror Story: Asylum" and Ellen Burstyn of "Political Animals" won supporting honors.

"The Voice" won Best Reality-competition program, "The Colbert Report" was crowned Best Variety Show and Tina Fey won for writing "30 Rock."

"Breaking Bad" star Anna Gunn was named Best Supporting Actress in a drama series, while Bobby Cannavale of "Boardwalk Empire" won the Best Actor award in the same category.

Merritt Wever of "Nurse Jackie" won the ceremony’s first award, for Best Supporting Actress in a comedy series while Tony Hale of "Veep" claimed the trophy for Best Supporting Actor in a comedy, a category that has been the property in recent years of the men of "Modern Family."
