NFP endorses 3 more including Pramod Rae Veteran politician and former trade unionist, Pramod Rae, has been formally endorsed as one of Fiji National Federation Party's (NFP) nominees for the forthcoming September 17 election.

He is one of three provisional candidates announced in Ba today by the party to represent the party in the election, bringing to 27 the number of people announced so far.

Rae is no stranger to the NFP scene and the political scene, boasting more than 30 years of experience in politics.

He stepped down as a trade unionist last month in order to be eligible to contest the election.

The announcement was made during a Party meeting at Ba Sangam Primary School Hall today.

The meeting was attended by 60 branch and village committee delegates.

Also named today were former Deputy Mayor of the Ba Town Council, Khalid Ali and businessman Davendra Naidu.

A well-known social worker in the district and a cane farmer, Ali is the deputy chairman of Ba District Advisory Council and a member of the Rarawai/Penang Mills Cane Producers Association.

Naidu who is also the Ba branch president, contested the Magodro Open Constituency in the 2006 general elections. He was the treasurer of the NFP Youth Movement from 1994 to 2002. He also served as chairman of Ba District Advisory Council continuously for 10 years from 2002 to 2012.

The NFP will announce a further three candidates in Lautoka tomorrow at the Sangam Village in Lovu.

Another announcement will be made on Monday in Suva.
