Always an Uphill Battle for Nasinu – Vonolagi

Nasinu Football’s Head Coach Tagi Vonolagi has shed light on the challenges faced by his team, particularly in terms of training facilities.

“We don’t have a proper ground to train; we just train on whoever’s backyard is available.”

“It’s always an uphill battle for us, considering the conditions we are facing, so we’re just trying to make use of whatever resources we have,” he said.

Adding to the team’s challenges, Nasinu will be without Kelemedi Matau and Jone Naraba due to serious injuries sustained in Round 6 against T/Naitasiri, while Iliesa Rakuka will miss the game due to a suspension from a double yellow card.

In response, Nasinu will be rotating their youth players to fill the gaps.

“Labasa is an experienced side, they have senior and national team players.”

“We rate ourselves as an underdog team, whatever points we collect is crucial for us…but that does not mean other teams can underestimate us,” he added.

Nasinu will go against Labasa at the FijiFA Vatuwaqa ground on Sunday at 2pm.
