Rio Olympic gold medalist Vatemo Ravouvou has issued a rallying cry for the return of Fiji’s renowned winning culture, starting with a strong showing at next weekend’s upcoming Hong Kong 7s.
With his eyes firmly set on victory, Ravouvou is keen to leverage his experience for the benefit of the team.
“I’m grateful for the coaching staff for trusting me for getting me back in the squad,” he stated.
His primary aim is to mentor the younger players, instilling in them the principles and mindset that have long been the cornerstone of Fiji’s rugby success.
Ravouvou’s approach is both motivational and instructional, focusing on uplifting the team’s spirit that has defined Fijian rugby.
“My job is to get them on their feet and get the winning culture back and just share my experience to the boys,”
He stressed the importance of shedding any negativity and adopting a positive outlook, especially given the team’s recent challenges in clinching titles.
“We have to take away the negatives and be positive since we have not won anything so my job is to get them on their feet,” Ravouvou added.
