Masi named SRP Player of the Week

Fijian Drua’s hat-trick hero against the Waratahs, Iosefo Masi has been named Super Rugby Pacific’s Player of the Week for Round 5.

He becomes the first Drua player this season to scoop the honor.

The Player of the Week is decided by fan votes after each round where five players are nominated.

The Olympic gold medalist, who now has 5 tries to his name after also getting a double in Round 4 against the Chiefs in Hamilton, is Drua’s all-time try-scorer.

He scored 9 tries last season and the recent achievement takes his scoring tally to 14 tries.

The Taveuni native has retained his place in the starting XV to face the Western Force in Lautoka tomorrow and will again be the go-to-man for the Drua.

The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua vs Western Force clash kicks off at 1.05pm.
