Wilson- the

By Sunil Sharma

He has an interesting history as he has lifted tournament titles for all the districts that he has represented so far in his playing career.

He is none other than steady left-back Joshua Wilson who lifted the Fiji FACT title with Suva in Ba last weekend.

The soft spoken Rotuman lad who grew up in Varadoli, Ba started his football career in the soccer crazy town of Fiji and represented the Fiji  U15 team on its tour of Europe at the age of 13.

He later represented Ba Sanatan and Drasa Secondary before making his district level debut with Lautoka.

He won the IDC title in his first year with the Blues in 2005 and later went on win tournament titles with Ba in 2008 and Rewa in 2010 before switching to Suva last season.

"I am no special but am just a simply family man," he quipped

"My family is my strength and I dedicate all my achievement in football to my parents, my beautiful wife Nina and my two wonderful children; Almira who is 3 years old and Matthew who is 10 months old."

"My family is my inspiration and whenever I am out on the field , I ensure that I give my best so my family is not disappointed."

For Wilson, the win with Suva will be the most memorable one as it has ended the wait of the Suva fans finally.

"This is a special one for me as this win is for the fans. They have waited for 17 years and it feels good to win and give something back to them."

Wilson intends to stick with the Whites this season and wants to win more tournament titles with them.
