Man U youngster hit with DUI charge

Manchester United's highly-rated young midfielder Ryan Tunnicliffe has been charged with drink driving, Greater Manchester police confirmed on Sunday.

The van subsequently collided with the wall of a house and police said the front seat passenger of the Range Rover suffered a minor whiplash injury in the collision and both vehicles were badly damaged.

Tunnicliffe, who was given his first professional contract with United in December 2009, is regarded as a potential star by boss Alex Ferguson and the teeanger made his debut as a substitute against Newcastle in a League Cup tie in September.

He spent most of last season on loan at Championship club Peterborough, who are managed by Ferguson's son Darren.
