Ba, Labasa fail to shine in Cup opener

Ba and Labasa failed to shine on the opening day of the 2012 Pacific Cup tournament at Mount Smart Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand yesterday.

Labasa came from two goals behind to draw 2-all with New Zealand Navua.

The Babasiga Lions goals came from the boots of Ilisoni Logaivou and Pita Bolaitoga.

Ba also had to struggle in their opening game trailing 1-0 behind AFSA Australia before mid-fielder Malakai Tiwa pulled the equaliser in the dying stages of the game.

Nadi and Lautoka will take to the pitch today in their opening games.

The Lambert Sarju coached side Lautoka will take New Zealand Nadi at 8.15pm tonight followed by Kamal Swamy testing his Nadi combination against Labasa at 9.30pm.

The full fixtures for day two are as follows.
5:45 pm Waitakere vs Navua NZ
7:00 pm Ba Fiji vs Labasa NZ
8:15 pm Lautoka Fiji vs Nadi NZ
9.30 pm Labasa Fiji vs Nadi Fiji
