Ben Aminio to captain Nadi in Pacific Cup

Nadi team goalie Ben Aminio has been given the captaincy armband for the Pacific Cup soccer tournament which starts at 5.30pm today at Mt Smart Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand.

The Kamal Swamy-coached side is on a bye on the opening day and will play Labasa at 9.30pm tomorrow in their opener.

Lautoka is also on a bye today and will be up against New Zealand Nadi at 8.15pm tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the Babasiga Lions will open the tournament with a match against New Zealand Navua at 5.30pm today. This will be followed by the New Zealand Nadi versus New Zealand Labasa game at 6.45pm.

The official opening will take place at 8pm before Nasinu New Zealand matches up against Waitakere United. Ba take on AFSA Australia in the final game of day one at 9/45pm.

With the top teams of Ba, Labasa, Lautoka and Nadi to participate, organisers are expecting a big crowd to converge at the stadium over the 5-day tournament.
