Draunibaka turns down move as Drova returns

Misaele Draunibaka will remain with Rewa for the new season while Peniame Drova has been confirmed as a sure starter for the Delta Tigers when the 2013 National Football League starts next month.

Speaking to FijiLive, Rewa team director Nazeel Buksh said Draunibaka turned down a request by Labasa for his release in the new window while Drova who was jailed for assault in August this year has been in an impressive form for his Lokia club over the last two weeks of games.

“Misa did not apply,” Buksh said.

“Labasa requested for his release so we held discussions with Misa who told us that he was not interested to join Labasa and wanted to stay on with Rewa.

“As for Drova, he has been playing club games the last two weeks and I must say he has not dropped his form. He still is very much a part of Rewa soccer and will be a sure starter in the opening round of the league in December.”

He said no other requests have been received by Rewa, but expects movement requests to start “flowing into the last five days before the window closes on 30 December.”

He also clarified talks linking the Delta Tigers with Simi Tamanisau and Joshua Wilson saying that the duo’s release is being sought by Rewa clubs.

“It’s club discussion at this stage. We have heard that both players are having talks with clubs in Rewa. They did not come to Rewa FA directly so its discussions at club level and we could confirm later of developments as information comes to hand.”
