Labasa nominate NCC entrants

Labasa have nominated Northern Socceroos and Black Virus as their representatives for the 2012 Kriz Signs National Club Championship.

Association secretary Nilesh Lal told FijiLive that only the two clubs participated in their local league, but says Fiji Football would have the last say on the validity of their nominations.

Labasa's nominations bring to seven the number of Super Premier teams that have confirmed their NCC candidates so far whilst Nadroga and Lautoka are still to finalise their respective reps.

Meanwhile, Pacific Cup training started today and Lal said key players were contacted and informed of their plans ahead of the New Zealand tournament later this month.

“The players’ chances of being part of the traveling squad will depend on their commitment and participation in the preparation as well as their selection into final squad which will be reduced to 18 from 25 by the end of the week,” Lal said.

Regarding the recently opened window, Lal said some key players from other districts have show interest and have signed on the application forms.

“At this stage, we can’t reveal anything because they are still in the early stages. But the signed letters have been delivered to Fiji FA and I believe the concerned districts will come to know in time.”

Rewa - Raymonds, United (by nomination)
Labasa - Black Virus, Northern Socceroos

The 2012 NCC zonal playoffs will take place on 10-11 November with the finals scheduled for 17-18 November. Venues are still to be finalised. Pool draws are expected to be done Wednesday.
