Dickson stars as Nadi wins FACT

Goalkeeper Vereti Dickson saved two penalties as Nadi defeated Suva 3-0 on penalties to win the 2016 Vodafone Fiji FACT at Nausori's Ratu Cakobau Park today.

The winner had to be decided in the penalty shootout after both teams failed to score in regulation and extra time.

Captain Napolioni Qasevakatini, Antonio Tuivuna and Mataiasi Toma scored for Nadi while keeper Vereti Dickson proved to be the hero for the Jetsetters as he saved Pita Rabo and Waisake Navunigasau`s penalties.

Madhavan Goundar shot his attempt wide over the cross-bar.

Nadi missed two early opportunities as defensive blunders handed the chance to Captain Napolioni Qasevakatini and striker Jolame Vukivuki to score but their attempts went wide.

Suva’s Joseph Turagabeci and Setareki Hughes looked promising on attack but could not get their combination right and find the back of the net.

Samuela Drudru copped the only booking of the first half for a foul on goalkeeper Vereti Dickson.

Suva replaced Turagabeci at the start of the second half with Kaliova Tivulu and also pulled out Setareki Hughes towards the end of the regulation time and sent in Tomasi Tuicakau while skipper Pita Rabo moved upfront in the striker's position, Nickel Chand dropping back at left back and Drudru in midfield.

Nadi Coach Joseph Nand also made tactical changes and sent in nippy Rahul Krishna in midfield and pulled out Jolame Vukivuki.

Qasevakatini, Nickel Chand and Suva goalie Benaminio Mateinaqara copped yellow cards for dangerous play.

The teams:
