Football team named for Olympics

The Vodafone Fiji football team for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil next month was revealed this morning.

Wellington Phoenix striker Roy Krishna who will lead the side is one of the three over-aged players in the 18-member squad.

Goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau and Ba defender Alvin Singh are the others.

In-form Nadi marksman Napolioni Qasevakatini, goalkeeper Misiwani Nairube and New Zealand based Joseph Turagabeci failed to make the final cut.

The team will be coached by Frank Farina who will be assisted by Ravinesh Kumar while Yogendra Dutt has been appointed the manager.
