Verevou, Mateinaqara to miss semis

Rewa’s star striker Iosefo Verevou and Suva goalkeeper Benaminio Mateinaqara will miss the semifinals of the 2016 Battle Of Giants this Saturday.

The pair received double bookings in their respective team’s group stage matches.

Verevou was booked against Suva and Dreketi while Mateinaqara who only featured in the first match was booked against Dreketi and yesterday he was booked on the bench for misconduct during Suva’s 0-0 draw against Nadi.

The pair will be available to play in the final should their teams progress.

Meanwhile Lautoka’s veteran utility Peni Finau will return in the semis after serving his one match suspension against Nadroga yesterday.

NEL Engineering Suva will face Labasa in the first semifinal at 3pm while Singh’s Rental Lautoka will battle it out against defending champions and host Rewa at 5pm.
