Experienced players boost Blues campaign

Battle Of Giants champion Lautoka has further boosted its campaign for the 2016 Courts Inter District Championship (IDC) by adding five experienced players to its squad.

The Blues have cleared suspended national defender Kolinio Sivoki for the tournament and have also obtained the release of goalkeeper Benaminio Mateinaqara, defenders Jone Vesikula and Shameel Rao and striker Samuela Drudru.

Head Coach Kamal Swamy who missed the BOG due to his medical condition is also back to guide the side which enters the IDC as firm favorites.

The experience of Peni Finau, Jone Vono Junior, Josefata Dugucagi, Zibraaz Sahib, Ilaitia Tuilau, Kavaia Rawaqa and Valerio Nawatu adds more depth to the squad while the current scoring form of marksman Mohammed Shazil Ali makes him one of the players to watch.

Lautoka last won the Courts IDC in 2008 where they defeated Ba 1-0 at Govind Park via a Malakai Waqa pile driver from 40 yards out.

Singh’s Rental sponsored Blues open their campaign against Nadroga at 1pm tomorrow.
