Qasevakatini to miss IDC opener

Star striker Napolioni Qasevakatini will miss Nadi’s Courts Inter District Championship (IDC) opener against Dreketi this afternoon.

Qasevakatini was sent off in Nadi’s last Vodafone Premier League match and will have to miss a match in the tournament.

His absence should make way for Rusiate Matarerega in the starting line-up. The former Fiji U23 striker has returned home after representing Suva for the past two seasons and will have a lot to prove in the tournament.

Also returning to the Jetset squad in IDC is midfielder Shafim Buksh who missed the earlier tournaments this year while former Suva, Nasinu, Lautoka, Nadroga and Rewa rep Elvin Prasad will make his debut for the side in midfield.

Fiji U20 Captain Mataiasi Toma, Patrick Joseph,  Afraz Ali and Martin Nasova add more flair to the squad which is expected to be marshaled by evergreen defender Eliki Ravosai.

The Joseph Nand coached side faces Dreketi at 5.30pm.

Nadi squad- Samuela Tamanisau, Semesa Muadonu, Luke Rawadamu, Mataiasi Toma, Shafim Buksh, Anish Khem, William Valentine, Waisake Tabucavu, Vuniuci Tikomaimereke, Rusiate Matarerega, Ilimotama Jese, Ame Votoniu, Elvin Prasad, Sairusu Niulevu, Napolioni Qasevakatini, Eliki Ravosai, Andrew Naicker, Patrick Joseph, Martin Nasova, Afraz Ali, Ronald Singh, Vereti Dickson.
