Champs Nadi through to semis

Defending champion Nadi has progressed to the semifinals of the 2016 Pacific Cup after outclassing Australia Fiji Football Association (AFFA) All Stars 3-0 in their final pool match at Prince Charles Park today.

After playing to a goal-less draw in the first half, the floodgates opened for the hosts in the second spell with Anish Khem opening their account with a beautiful finish from a Rusiate Matarerega through pass.

Replacement Andrew Naicker doubled Nadi’s lead in the 25th minute after connecting well with a Khem cross.

Khem had the final say of the match as he walked past four defenders and beat the goalkeeper before tapping the ball into an empty goalmouth.

Nadi’s standing in Pool A will be determined after the last match between Labasa and NZFFI All Stars.
