Makoe late winner keeps Rewa in hunt

Amani Makoe scored an injury time winner as Rewa defeated Dreketi 2-1 in the Vodafone Premier League at Subrail Park today to keep its title hopes alive.

The win pushes the Delta Tigers to the second spot with 22 points and they will now have to win their remaining three matches and will have to hope that Ba drops points in its remaining games.

The first half failed to produce any goal and Josateki Tamudu opened Rewa’s account in the 50th minute.

Ashneel Raju leveled scores for Dreketi in the 65th minute to put immense pressure on the visitors but continuous attacks in the dying stages saw Makoe find the back of the net.

Rewa faces Labasa at 1pm tomorrow while Dreketi will play Suva at 3pm.
