Vanuatu skipper boosts NZFFI All Stars

Vanuatu national skipper Brian Kaltack will feature for the New Zealand Fiji Football Inc (NZFFI) All Stars in the 2016 Pacific Cup in Nadi this week.

The 23-year-old is one of the five guest players in the side which won the 2014 edition of the tournament in Sydney.

Others include former All Whites defender Tim Myers, Jamie Shields and Solomon Islands internationals Andrew Abba and Michael Fifii.

NZFFI All Stars co-manager Kartik Reddy told FijiLive their preparation has been good and they have retained core players from last year’s squad.

“Most of the players from last year are in the team and we have included some experienced players like Salesh Kumar, Munit Krishna, Abbu Zahid and Leone Vurukania to add more depth and strength to the squad.”

He said Coach/Player Josaia Bukalidi has been working hard to build a formidable combination and they are opting to keep the underdogs tag heading into pool play.

“We know we are in a pool of death and it all depends on how we front up against our oppositions. We would take one game at a time and see how things eventuate,” said Reddy.

The Rams Group of Companies, S S Naidu Investments Ltd and 3 DEES Electrical sponsored NZFFI All Stars will also have the services of players like James Hoyt, Mohammed Shuaib Khan, Noa Vukica, Rinal Prasad, Joseph Turagabeci and evergreen goalkeeper Ravinesh Narayan.

NZFFI All Stars will open their campaign in the Ram’s Cleaning Services Pacific Cup against Ba at 7pm on Thursday.
