Roy scores in Wellington win

Fijian Captain Roy Krishna scored a goal in Wellington Phoenix’s 2-1 upset victory over Brisbane Roar in the weekend.

Krishna scored his side's second goal as Wellington snapped their five-match winless run with only their second ever victory at Suncorp Stadium.

Former All Whites striker Shane Smeltz scored the opener for Phoenix in the 35th minute of play.

Brisbane fought their way back into the contest and pulled a goal back with Brandon Borelllo in the 75th minute but Wellington held firm to keep touch with the Hyundai A-League top six.

Krishna now has scored 10 goals in the 2016/17 Hyundai A-League season and is currently fifth on the top goal scorers chart.

Wellington Phoenix will host Perth Glory in its next match this Saturday at the QBE Stadium.
