NZFFI All Stars beat Rewa in semis

Defending champions, New Zealand Fiji Football Incorporated (NZFFI) All Stars have booked their place in the final of the 2018 Pacific Cup after beating Rewa 6-5 in penalties in the first semifinal in Sydney today.

The teams were level 1-1 after normal and two spell of extra time.

The Kiwis scored first through Mitch Cooper but a late equaliser by replacement Epeli Saukuru took the match into extra time.

Rewa's Japanese guest player Yuta Konagaya missed the first penalty and this proved costly as NZFFI All Stars successfully converted all their penalty attempts to win the encounter.

Zane Sole, Gabriel Mataniga, Epeli Saukuru and Mohammed Naheem managed to score for Rewa while NZFFI scored their penalties through Cooper, Jake Butler, Shuaib Khan, Alvin Avinesh and Andrew Naicker.

NZFFI All Stars will meet the winner of the Lautoka vs Western Sydney semifinal clash in the grand finale later tonight.

The winner will receive AUD $10,000 while the runnerup will get AUD $3000.
