A hardworking forward with all-round commitment, Vuniwaqa featured for the Bligh Roosters in the 2007 Colonial Cup and for Tavua in the Sanyo Cup. He was first drafted into the Digicel Fiji 7s training squad to prepare for the 2006-07 IRB Series but narrowly missed out on selection. He was a member of the victorious team that won the 2007 Pacific Games gold medal in
Samoa and made his IRB 7s debut in Dubai.
