Swamy ruled out of Pacific Cup

Ba’s free-kick specialist Avinesh Waran Swamy has been ruled out of he Men-in-Black’s Pacific Cup squad tour to New Zealand.

This follows the untimely death of his father last Sunday.

BA FA boss, Rishi Kumar told FijiLive Swamy’s exclusion brings to three the number of players ruled out for the Auckland tournament.

“Surely we will be miss Avinesh’s service but unfortunate we cannot do much, our condolences to his family,” Kumar said.     

Earlier, Alvin Singh and Manueli Kalou ruled themselves out of the New Zealand tour.

Singh had to go to Australia to attend a trial while Kalou is tied up with family commitment.

The Yogendra Dutt-coached side will depart for Auckland next Tuesday.

Ba will face Sydney in their opening pool game followed by New Zealand before meeting Lautoka and then New Zealand Nadi in their final pool game.

The Pacific Cup will be played from on 21-25 November at Mount Smart Stadium in Auckland New Zealand.
