Champs Ba on track to retain title

Defending champion Ba is on track to retain the Vodafone Women’s Senior League title after walloping Tailevu Naitasiri 10-0 in its first match of the final playoff at the Fiji FA Academy Grounds in Suva yesterday.

Laced with bulk of national reps, the Girls in Black were superior in all aspects of the game and proved too strong for the Southern Division winners.

Striker Cema Nasau was the toast of the side as she netted six goals in the one-sided encounter.

Ba’s other goals came from Sonali Rao, Luisa Tamanitoakula, Kolota Likuculacula and Rosi Marama.

Ba meets Labasa in its second match at 3pm today and a win in this fixture will see them retain the title successfully.
