Zahid, Rao net double in Ba win

Seasoned striker Abbu Zahid and midfielder Narendra Rao scored a brace of goals to help Ba overcome a spirited Tavua outfit 4-2 in their Vodafone Premier League fixture at Garvey Park on Sunday.

The Men In Black led 2-0 at halftime with Zahid and Rao scoring in the 17th and 45th minute.

Zahid scored his second goal of the day three minutes into the second half before the hosts hit back with two beautiful goals through national trialist Vilitati Kautoga in the 65th and 76th minute to narrow the scores to 3-2 and make the last ten minutes of the match more exciting and thrilling.

Rao wrapped up the win for Ba three minutes from fulltime after taking full advantage of a mistake in defence and slamming the ball beyond the reach of goalkeeper Jovilisi Borisi.

Ba now has 9 points on the VPL standings after four matches while Tavua has 3 points from five games.
