Fiji thumps champs, qualifies for quarters

Fiji thumped defending champion Scotland 39-12 in its second pool match of the London 7s this morning to book its place in the Cup quarterfinals.

Playmaker Vatemo Ravouvou scored a brace of tries while Eroni Sau got one as Fiji led 15-5 at halftime.

Semi Radradra, Sevuloni Mocenacagi, Captain Jerry Tuwai and replacement forward Jasa Veremalua added four more tries to Fiji’s tally in the second spell to wrap up a ruthless performance.

Fiji will play arch rivals New Zealand in its final pool match at 4.32am.

The Kiwis have also progressed to the Cup quarters after beating Scotland 24-12 and Argentina 36-5.
