Overseas trio to join camp on Tuesday

Leone Nakarawa, Semi Radradra and Josua Tuisova will join the Fiji Airways Men’s 7s camp on Tuesday.

Speaking to FijiLive, Coach Gareth Baber said the players were excused this week as they all had commitments and needed time to rest and recover.

“Leone Nakarawa was involved in big games with the Flying Fijians and he has played some very tough matches. He was given time off to rest and spend some time with loved ones.”

“Josua Tuisova got married and has been excused till Monday. He has been looking after himself well and should come to camp in a good shape.”

“Semi Radradra was stood down and given time to rest and recover as he has a new contract in France and his club wanted him to take time off. He was in an amazing form for the Flying Fijians and should add a lot of depth, strength and class to the Fiji 7s squad.”

“All these players should be in camp the latest by Tuesday and like everyone else, I am also excited to see them in action. Of course training will be tough and all the players in the squad will undergo some intense preparations.”

Semi Kunatani was the lone overseas based player in camp this week and Baber has been happy with his form and dedication.

“Semi is a fantastic player. He has won a gold medal with the team in Olympics. His level of dedication, discipline and commitment is great and it’s always a bonus to have a player of his caliber in the team,” Baber added.
