Tuigulagula seals win for Nadi

Fiji U19 striker Peni Tuigulagula netted a 79th minute winner as Nadi defeated Ba 2-1 in a thrilling Vodafone Premier League encounter at Govind Park in Ba today.

Ba, playing in front of its home fans after almost nine months made a good start but a lapse of concentration in defence allowed Nadi Captain Rusiate Matarerega the opportunity to sneak in with the opener in the 19th minute.

Youngster Kishan Sami leveled scores for the hosts in the 34th minute with a beautiful pile-driver which gave Nadi goalkeeper Samuela Tamanisau no chance at all.

The teams rested 1-1 at halftime, making the second half a more exciting and entertaining affair.

After a couple of misses from both side, Tuigulagula was able to find the net as Ba’s defence was caught square and goalkeeper Misiwani Nairube off-guard-  leaving the youngster in the clear to score the winner.

Nadi, after the win moves up to the fourth spot with 11 points after 8 matches while Ba remains in third position with 11 points (better goal difference) after 7  games.
