Fiji finishes fourth in World Cup

Fiji will return home without a medal from the 2018 7s World Cup in San Francisco after losing the bronze medal match 24-19 to South Africa.

The Gareth Baber coached side was eliminated from the semifinals by eventual winners New Zealand after losing 22-17.

South Africa on the other hand was thumped 29-7 by England in their semifinal match.

In the bronze medal match, South Africa led 17-7 at halftime with Sevuloni Mocenacagi scoring the lone try of the first half for Fiji.

Josua Tuisova and Semi Radradra scored two more tries in the second half but another try by the South Africans ensured they returned home with a medal.

Meanwhile New Zealand won the World Cup back to back  after thumping England 33-12 in the final.
