Malaysia beats Bula Boys in friendly

The Vodafone national football team lost its one-off international friendly to Malaysia 1-0 in Kuala Lumpur early this morning.

The hosts scored their winner in the 19th minute of play through Muhammed Syafiq Ahmad.

The Bula Boys had their fair share of possession and chances to score but poor finishing and moments of hesitation in front of goal let them down.

Rewa utility Mitieli Namuka and Nadroga’s Paulo Buke made their international debut and started the match while Fiji U19 reps Ratu Kaliova Dau and Savanaca Baledrokadroka were also given game time off the bench.

The team returns home on Sunday morning.
