RKS beats QVS, defends U16 title

Ratu Kadavulevu School (RKS) claimed its third straight title of the 2018 Powerade Super Deans Championship after beating neighbours Queen Victoria School 15-7 in the U16 final at the ANZ Stadium in Suva today.

QVS was first to get on the board through fullback Josua Save and led 7-0 but two tries by locks Manasa Mailalaga and Josaia Dawai gave RKS a 10-7 halftime lead.

Flanker Nathaniel Tuilaucala scored the lone try of the second half as RKS held onto its lead till the final whistle.

RKS Captain Mosese Qionimacawa who was named the Player of the Final said they worked together as a team to topple QVS and his teammates did not panic although they were down at one stage.

“We met with QVS in our first Deans match this year and today was our second meeting.  I would like to thank the boys from QVS for the tough game they gave us,” Qionimacawa said.

He also thanked the Lebanon Old Boys Association for sponsoring the team for the finals.
