Champs NZFFI All Stars in pool of death

Defending Pacific Cup champion NZFFI All Stars have been drawn in a tough pool for this year’s edition of the tournament in Sydney.

The star studded Kiwis are drawn in Pool B with last season’s finalist USA All Stars, 4-time champion Nadi, Fiji’s IDC and VPL champion Lautoka and host team- the AFFA Sydney All Stars.

Pool A has Suva, Rewa, Auckland Ba, Western Sydney and Melbourne.

Following the pool draws in Sydney last night, AFFA President Nick Sharma said there a big hype surrounding the tournament and teams will now be able to prepare thoroughly after knowing their pool opponents.

He said all the 10 teams in the tournament will be bringing their best squads to Sydney and the standard of competition in the five-day event is expected to be very high given the fact that all teams will be allowed to field four guest players with many already including former Australia, New Zealand and American national players.

The Ram’s Group of Companies sponsored Pacific Cup will be played at the Sydney United Football Stadium from November 21-25.
