Totori, Matarerega  lead Golden Boot race

Lautoka’s Benjamin Totori and Nadi marksman Rusiate Matarerega are leading the race for the Golden Boot in the 2018 Courts Inter-District Championship (IDC) which is currently underway in Suva.

Both strikers have scored 4 goals each for their respective districts and will face-off in the second semifinal at 4.30pm today.

Totori scored a classic goal against Ba and netted a hat-trick against Nasinu while Matarerega who also scooped the VPL Golden Boot has scored in every group match for Nadi in the IDC.

Other players who are in contention include Vilitati Kautoga (Labasa, 2 goals), Christopher Wasasala (Labasa, 2 goals), Rahul Krishna (Nadi, 2 goals), Pita Levaci (Labasa, 2 goals), Sairusi Nalaubu (Lautoka, 2 goals), Imraan Shah (Nadi, 2 goals), Samuela Drudru (Lautoka, 1 goal), Shahil Dave (Suva, 1 goal), Samuela Drudru (Lautoka, 1 goal), Bruce Hughes (Suva, 1 goal), Horrace James (Nadi, 1 goal), Samuela Nabenia (Lautoka, 1 goal), Waisake Navunigasau (Suva, 1 goal), Napolioni Qasevakatini (Suva, 1 goal), Edwin Sahayam (Labasa, 1 goal), Zibraaz Sahib (Lautoka, 1 goal), Bakalevu Vosuqa (Lautoka, 1 goal) and Tito Vodowaqa (Nadi, 1 goal).

A total of 43 goals were scored during the group stages of the Premier Division in the first three days of competition.
