FRU confirms Waqairawai departure

Fiji Rugby Union operations manager Vilikesa Rinavuaka has confirmed that the contract of their sponsorship and marketing manager Tevita Waqaraiwai will not be renewed.

Rinavuaka told FijiLive it was a tough decision to make, but one that needed to be done for the “best of Fiji Rugby.”

“At the end of the day, we have to look at our economic situation,” Rinavuaka said.

“Tevita (Waqairawai) has struggled to find sponsors in a time that is pretty tough to look for sponsorship. It’s sad but we have to do what’s best for Fiji Rugby.”

Rinavuaka declined to comment on Waqairawai’s replacement adding that the decision will be made “in-house”.
